Silly Putty® "Silliest Uses Contest" Official Rules

To Enter: Write a brief description of your idea and complete the "Silliest Uses" Email Form and click on "submit my silly idea." No purchase necessary.

Entrants Eligibility: Contest open to legal U.S. and Canadian residents only, except employees and their immediate families of Binney & Smith, their affiliates, printers, licensees, subsidiaries and agents and contest judges. Void in Puerto Rico, Quebec and where prohibited.

Judging: Winners will be selected by a panel of Binney & Smith employees and representatives. The decision of these judges will be final and binding in all matters. Selection criteria will be silliness, originality and practicality, with each aspect having equal weight. In the event of a tie, winner will be selected on the basis of silliness.

Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize: A one-of-a-kind 14-karat gold 50th anniversary Silly Putty® Egg and a lifetime supply of Silly Putty® eggs (lifetime supply determined as one Silly Putty® egg per month through the winners 72nd birthday, based on current age; total supply will be awarded at conclusion of contest); Approximate Retail Value-$2,100. Nine (9) First Prizes: One 5 lb. Piece of Original Silly Putty® and a Silly Putty® prize pack; approximate retail value-$75. Forty (40) Second Prizes: A dozen Silly Putty® eggs, including new Metallic Gold Silly Putty® and other varieties; approximate retail value-$18.

Entry Details: Entries from people aged 14 and older must be submitted on the official Silliest Uses Email Form on www.sillyputty.com on or before May 2, 2000 (12:00:00 EST). Enter as may times as you like, but each entry must be submitted separately. Entry must be original. Entries from those under 13 years of age must be submitted through the mail to: Silliest Uses for Silly Putty®, PO Box 3546, Easton, PA 18043-3546. Entries must include name, address, age and Silly idea and include a parent or guardian permission signature. Enter as often as you like, but only one entry per envelope will be accepted. Mailed entries must be postmarked by May 2, 2000 and received no later than May 8, 2000. Prizes for minors may be awarded in the name of parent or legal guardian.

Notification: Winners will be notified by e-mail, telephone and/or mail by May 25, 2000 and announced on www.sillyputty.com beginning June 1, 2000.

Additional Rules: Submissions will become the property of Binney & Smith and will not be returned. Binney & Smith is not responsible for late, lost, or misdirected email, or submissions not received due to technical difficulties resulting from hardware, software or email servers. Subject to all federal, state and local laws. Prizes are nontransferable and no substitutions or cash equivalents are allowed except by sole discretion of sponsor. If prize is unavailable at contest's end, another prize of equal or greater value will be substituted at sponsor's option. Entrants release Binney & Smith, their parent company, affiliates, licensees, employees, advertising and promotional agencies from any and all claims or liability in connection with the conduct of the contest or the acceptance or use of any prize awarded in connection with this contest. Winners may be required to verify address or execute an affidavit of eligibility and release within 14 business days of notification attempt or the prize will be forfeited. Taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the individual winners. By entering this contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by these rules. Entry constitutes permission to use winners' names, likenesses and entry for publicity purposes without further compensation except where prohibited by law, and to investigation of eligibility.
